How it all started
-
From barreling down the bunny hill on tiny skis to jumping my bike over garbage cans in my back alley, playing in the outdoors has become a part of me; a place that I have and always will love to be.
My love of photography began some years ago when I was experimenting with new ways to explore the outdoors. I dusted off my Dads old 35mm camera and quickly to learn the basics of exposure, focus, and composition. One roll of film, a trip to Whistler BC, and only five exposures later I was awarded honorable mention in a local photography competition.
I was hooked!

Where I studied
-
For the first several years I taught myself, learning from other photographers I got in contact with, and studying magazines with photographs I loved.
To help me perfect my art, moved to Victoria BC to study at the Western Academy of Photography. The new city didn't provide many mountain bikers and skiers to photograph, which drove me to open my passion to new opportunities; from fashion photography with models, to architecture, to studio work with meticulously organized still life pictures.

Where I am
I am now based in Calgary Alberta. I try to push and develop my photography every time I touch my camera, setting new goals and trying new things. I love to shoot the pictures that haven't been taken, pictures people say are past the limits of what can be done, or a perspective that hasn't been seen. I love pushing my capacity for alternative technical methods which other photographers haven't done, or rarely try.

Where I am going
My love for photography is, and will always be open to any genre. Be it sports, landscape, portraiture, fashion, still life, architecture, or advertising - I love all of it and hope to continue shooting a wide variety of subjects. Wherever my eyes and my camera take me I hope to develop, grow and innovate as an artist.
