The Street Chairs

December 2nd, 2008

(insert British commentator from National Geographic channel) Street chairs are a commonplace spectacle in Victoria BC. They are a independent species which often resides near transportation routes, however they are sometimes accompanied by other items like a couch, desk or bedside lamp. They hibernate during the middle of the month in street side shelters and then often show up for several days or even a week near the end/beginning of the month.

Experts say the Street Chairs migration from shelters to the street side is related to the migration of Homo Sapiens from one shelter to another, they use these shelters as night time dwelling places. The monthly re-location of Homo Sapiens is linked to something called ‘renting’ where they use a shelter which belongs to another Homo Sapien in exchange for valuable paper
