So yes, i’m a liar the last post’s moaning about being on the snow for the last time was a falsity. The morning i was supposed to leave Whistler I decided that l didn’t want to leave. Several Phone calls, lots of checking of public transit schedules and adjusting a photoshoot’s time by one hour i was staying in Whistler to Photograph the Grenade Games Finale at the Telus World Ski Snowboard Festival. The Grenade Games cover all of the competitive events for the Snowboarding part of the TWSSF, and last nights biggest and baddest event of the competition was the Big Air – Slopestyle.
After the World Ski Invitational’s Big Air the jump was destroyed by snowcats and reshaped into a new and awsome course for the riders to hit.
Enough Jabber, more Pictures
So now i think i can safely say that I have departed from the snow until next winter. (But we can always hope for something different can’t we?)
… well i think its was my last day on snow this season. Injuries and the fact that i’m heading back to Victoria today sort of dictate that i’ll have to wait till next winter to get back on the slopes.
Anywhoozle the Grenade Games Halfpipe was shhwwweeet. a really interesting course brought slope style and halfpipe riding together. The riders boosted, crowd cheered, skin burned, tunes played, course slayed. Need much more be said?
The Media Frenzy on the deck of the pipe was really quite rediculas, so many photographers videographers. lights everywhere, even more bags, all great reasons why its tough to shoot a competition.
Cash Prizes were given for specific acts of awsome: big air, gnarly crash, handplanting the Log, smashing the pinata.
No… nothing to do with the TV station. Just there has been a lot more music at the TWSSF in Whistler.
Continuing the bitter news about my knee i have been getting the last update now brings the stability (or even existence?) of my ACL ligament in my left knee. doesn’t that just kick ass eh? 3 separate injuries 1 month. is there any kind of prize out there for getting owned by BC ski resorts?

Due to my knee injury i got taking pictures at the World Ski Invitational Qualifiers on Blackcomb. I spent the day hobbling around the Whistler Village taking pictures of bands playing at the Zune and Pontiac Stages.
