Batman

February 11th, 2009

Its really fun taking a character and doing your own shots on it. I have never taken an already well-known personality or shot and done my version on it. This, Batman, is my first go at it.

The idea was actually spurred by my good friend JLP aka The Champ when he mentioned Batman in class in relation to gobos and cookies (no not cookie monster type cookies). A bit of planning, emails and a drive to pick up the costume, a short arts and craft session to make the symbol, I was ready to go.

I took about fifteen minuets to setup equipment and just began dialing in my lightning when we got booted by a security guard.

Ten minuets of taking stuff down, and two more security guards later we left and went to our second location.

This shoot was one of my more challenging, frustrating and rewarding shoots. I was using some borrowed equipment, a relatively new camera, new lighting techniques, and on location shooting. But if it was all easy what fun would it be?
