Chinook Half Triathlon

June 21st, 2009

If you have been following my blogging for several years over both websites and many posts you may remember images from the 2007 Chinook Half Triathlon/. Two years later I was back taking pictures of the annual event, specifically my brother who was competing: Josh Krabbe.
First swim 2 km
For those who don’t have a handle on triathlon distances this half triathlon was: 2km swim, 90km bike, 21km run. I still don’t understand how people enjoy it, but i also don’t know how people enjoy Jessica Simpson’s singing and many still do.
Chinook 1/2 Triathlon
I was only planning to stay for the swim and part of the bike so i could get back home and continue the unpacking progress from moving to Calgary the night before. However by the time we had driven out half of the bike course to catch up after shooting the swim Josh was already about 3km infront of the next fastest rider.
Then bike 90km
With such a big lead after the bike he finished first in the whole triathlon, 7 minutes before second place, and a course record on the bike.
Finally run 21km and win
Congrats Josh
