Aleutian Island editorial story for Powder Magazine to ski Mount Vsevidof

This assignment for Powder Magazine took us to one of the most remote and surreal ski destinations on Earth — Mount Vsevidof, a dormant volcano rising from the edge of the Aleutian Islands. The place feels like the end of the world: windswept, volcanic, and empty in a way that messes with your sense of scale and place.

We chased snow and light in unpredictable conditions, but luck broke in our favor — a rare convective snowstorm rolled in, and then parted just in time for a final descent bathed in golden sunset light and cold powder. It was an improbable finish in an unlikely place, and one of the most memorable ski runs I’ve ever documented.
