Skiing the Yukon’s Tombstone Territorial Park in search of the aurora borealis for SBC Ski Mag

Deep in Tombstone Territorial Park, we chased the rare chance to ski under the northern lights, a trip relying on luck and a lot of cold patience.

The photograph itself was a challenge: working in -20°C, balancing camera and lighting while the aurora danced unpredictably across the sky, never waiting for me to catch up.

Beyond the images, simply skiing safely in these mountains felt like its own reward, navigating persistent cold and unstable avalanche conditions.
